  Undeniably, there are hundreds of types and brands of (basmati) rice, including the superior "aged" varieties originating from special locations (eg the legendary "purana Dehraduni basmati"). But this India Gate (yes, it's aged but I do not know where it comes from, probably Haryana) rice is a classic in more ways than one - super long grain, wonderful texture and taste. It is the best easily available basmati I have ever eaten (and my tastings include several also excellent brands from Pakistan), and I see no point in continuing my erstwhile search for better varieties/brands for my kitchens here and in Europe.
